More than just glass

At Sierra we use only the highest quality glass ensuring your customers benefit from the associated advantages.

SGG PLANITHERM TOTAL energy efficient glass

Optimised for Window Energy RatingsSGG PLANITHERM TOTAL is specifically designed to help insulate by keeping as much heat inside as possible. Glass of this type is commonly known as thermally insulating glass or low emissivity glass

A transparent metallic coating on one side of the glass reflects the heat generated inside the house back into the room rather than it escaping through the window.  At the same time it allows free heat and light from the sun (known as passive solar heat gain) to pass through the glass, warming your home and further contributing to the energy efficiency
of your windows.

Advantages

  • Improved thermal insulation – reduces heat loss more effectively
  • Promotes passive solar heat gain – free heat from the sun passes easily through the glass
  • Improved energy efficiency – reduced need for heating helps to save energy and protect
    the environment
  • More comfortable room – improved thermal insulation means fewer cold spots and drafts near windows and doors
  • Less condensation – the inner surface of the glass stays warmer reducing internal condensation
  • No unsightly tint  - Unlike traditional low-E coatings that suffer from an unsightly yellow tint
  • More light- less tint also means more light can enter the room, making it more comfortable
  • No ‘haze’ effect – SGG PLANITHERM does not suffer from the unsightly tint commonly associated with traditional low-E products

Self cleaning glass

SGG PLANITHERM TOTAL energy efficient glassSelf cleaning glass is a fantastic innovation that will save your customers time, money and hassle. A special coating applied to the glass causes water to sheet off the surface leaving a clean exterior with minimal spotting or streaking.

Using daylight UV energy, the surface on the glass gradually breaks down and loosens dirt, allowing it to be washed away by rain or hosing. Ideal for conservatories and windows in hard to reach places.

Advantages

  • Less frequent cleaning – windows stay cleaner for longer
  • Much easier cleaning – less dirt and grime adheres to the glass
  • Save money – the cost of window cleaning is reduced
  • Ideal for hard to reach areas
  • No unsightly tint or reflective surface – looks just like normal glass
  • Permanent coating – lasts the lifetime of the window
  • Environmentally friendly – less frequent use of water and detergents
